Standard Bra
A standard bra is perfect for wide-strapped, cap sleeved or gowns with shoulder coverage, as your bra straps will be covered by your dress. A standard bra will provide lots of support and shape—if you’re able to wear a standard bra with your gown, you’re in luck! Easy and breezy, putting on a bra with your wedding dress just like you would any other day will feel like a no-brainer. Keep in mind, in order to wear a standard bra, your dress would need to have a higher back to cover it.
Strapless Bra
Tried and true, the strapless bra is a great option for almost every style of dress. This bra will give you the support you need without fussy straps getting in the way. Definitely invest in a well constructed strapless bra, and you shouldn’t have any problems with it falling down as you dance the night away.
Longline Bra
We love longline bras here at Kleinfeld—in fact, we carry them in almost every size (and in 3 colors, white, ivory and nude!) to try on with your wedding dress. With built in corset support, these bras will cinch you in to make your waist appear super tiny. A longline bra is a great option if you’re wanting a little more support, your dress doesn’t have a corset built in, or if you’ve got a heavier bust that needs a little extra support.
Shape wear
Shape wear, especially if you are wearing a dress made of fabrics that are a bit unforgiving (like crepe, silk, and satin) is your best friend. With smoothing shape wear, you can say goodbye to stubborn underwear lines and focus on how beautiful you look. Plus, some shape wear is made of sweat-wicking fabric, so it might actually help you stay cooler than if you decided to go without it.
Pasties
Pasties or nipple covers are a great option for dresses with very sheer illusion bodices or thin fabric covering the breasts. They’ll provide the coverage you need, but provide no support.
Cups
Cups can be sewn into your wedding dress, and are a great option for plunging necklines and sheer bodices. They often help to create a more rounded shape but do not provide much support.
