Alon Livné

Born in Tel Aviv, Alon Livné was an only child with Jewish parents who had an Egyptian background. His mother a hairdresser and his father a businessman, Livné always knew that he wanted to become a fashion designer. At the age of 11, he created his own illustrated children’s book, and by the time he was 13, he was already cutting and sewing clothing from his mom’s and grandmother’s old tablecloths.

Livné studied art and sculpting at various art-oriented high schools before attending the world-renowned Shankar College of Art and Design where he studied Fashion Design. At the mere age of 17, he had already mastered the art of sewing and pattern making.

Deriving inspiration from nature and art, Livné’s designs convey a modern and futuristic approach with elements of a classic gothic aesthetic. His pieces constantly manifest the contrast between the soft, feminine, and pleasant with the rough, powerful, and provocative. Known for being instantly recognizable, the designer’s work is often characterized by its dramatic sculptural shapes that create new proportions and angles to the body. Utilizing modern technologies such as laser-cutting and 3D printing, Livné combines unique fabrics with couture sewing techniques.

Alon Livné has gained a large following of celebrities and influencers alike such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Naomi Campbell, Miley Cyrus, and more. His designs and collections are also favored by major publications including Vogue, WWD, Elle, V-Magazine, Nylon, NEO2, and Harper’s Bazaar.
