As always, we’ve got you covered! You can complete your entire wedding day look with earrings (a veil, headpiece, and more!) when you say “yes!” to your dream wedding dress at Kleinfeld. Best of all, we have an incredibly talented, expert team of bridal and accessories stylists who are dedicated to guiding you through the process.
In fact, Kleinfeld’s accessories department, located on our lower level, is an exclusive space solely dedicated to providing a vast yet intentionally curated assortment of heirloom-worthy pieces. We invite you to peruse the seemingly endless selection (of sparkle!) by simply stopping by or scheduling an accessories appointment where you have the opportunity to consult one-on-one with a personal accessories stylist.
To get you started, we spoke with our accessories specialists and discovered their top tips for finding the earrings that work best for you and your dress:
Necklines are everything.
First and foremost, consider the neckline of your dress. Whether you’re wearing a strapless, high neck, or illusion style, there is an earring style and length to complement each and every gown. Ultimately, balance is key. “The length of your earrings should coordinate with the neckline of your dress,” says Brook. “If your dress is strapless, you can wear a longer earring. If your dress has a high neckline, sleeves, or straps, a shorter earring would be better.”
Consider your hairstyle.
More exposed hairstyles, such as a sleek, pulled-back bun, may showcase studs or dainty earrings better. Alternatively, statement-making chandelier earrings pair beautifully with softer styles like Hollywood waves. “A stud earring can be hidden by voluminous hair,” says Kendra. Whatever your preferred hairstyle may be, the decision will help guide you toward the perfect pair of earrings.
Keep the look cohesive.
When in doubt, always opt for an earring that complements the overall aesthetic of your dress and bridal vision. “If you have a minimal dress, keep the earring minimal to keep the look cohesive,” says Regina. Consider elements such as stones and hardware. If your gown is embellished with pearls, consider opting for pearl studs or clustered pearl and diamond earrings. Similarly, assess whether you’re infusing gold or silver tones into your dress, decor, or even venue. Once you decide on one, keep it consistent.
Stay true to your style but consider venturing out of your comfort zone.
We are firm believers that your bridal look should represent the most elevated version of yourself. “I always recommend my brides go just one step above their comfort zone because it is their wedding day, and in a room filled with either 200 or 300 people, a small stud won’t show up in pictures from across the room,” says Rita.
Don’t be afraid of a little sparkle.
While some brides may overlook or undermine the visual impact of beautifully embellished earrings, we’re here to remind you that sparkle highlights and brings focus to your face. After all, you deserve to have your guests admire you, not just your stunning dress. “A lot of brides tend to think that wearing an over-the-top ball gown or super blinged-out dress means toning down the rest of her accessories,” says Kendra. “In many cases, this isn’t always true. “Pairing an extravagant dress with minimal to no accessories can give the bride an ‘unfinished’ appearance.”
