Engaged:

On a beautiful spring day Admir surprised me with a trip to the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York. New Paltz was our “meeting point” as our relationship was long distance for a few years and this town was equidistant from both of our homes. At Mohonk we went on a horse drawn carriage ride up the mountain, had lunch with an incredible view, and went on a walk along the lake. During this walk he requested we take a picture at a gazebo. He then pointed to a boat on the water with a sign that read “Adelina Say Yes!” Confused, I looked down and he was on one knee holding the most beautiful ring. Through the tears I was able to get the word “yes” out. He then told me that he had hired a photographer who was taking photos of us throughout our visit. We then took beautiful photos on the property following the proposal. He was always so great at surprising me, but this one took the cake!

I remember watching “Say Yes to the Dress” as a little girl and promising myself that one day I would go to Kleinfeld’s in search of my dream dress. Well that day came and on Labor Day 2018 I said yes to the dress. Designer Dennis Basso brought to life my off-the-shoulder dropped waist ball gown and veil  complete with a beaded Chantilly lace bodice and organza three dimensional floral appliqués. It was everything I envisioned and more. My bridal consultant Rosaria was the kindest person who assisted me with my search. As soon as I told her what I was looking for she knew exactly what I would like. The first dress she brought me was the one! I am so thankful to have had her guidance through this process. I felt so confident, elegant, and timeless in this dress.

Our 500 person wedding was held at Da Mikele Illagio in Queens, NY on June 8th, 2019. This day was a perfect dream that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Our families are both from Montenegro where big weddings are the norm and we were so lucky to find a beautiful venue that could accommodate our guests. From the incredible food, to the flowers, music, and dress it truly was the best day of my life. We felt so blessed to be surrounded by loving friends and family who filled our day with smiles, laughs, and support.
