Ashley’s favorite animal is a penguin. A pair of penguins mate for life and they search across hundreds of miles of tundra to find their perfect mate.
While Ashley and Jorge didn’t have to cross the tundra to meet, their paths’ crossing was still pretty slim that one could only believe it was destiny. Jorge was born in Colombia and Ashley was born in the U.S.Jorge was raised in Rhode Island and Ashley was raised in New Jersey, and yet the managed to find each other and fall in love.
Once a penguin finds their mate, the male penguin will search the whole tundra to find the perfect pebble to propose to their mate. Knowing this, Jorge decided to propose to Ashley at the Central Park Zoo by the penguin exhibit. He presented Ashley with her own “pebble” and asked her to be his penguin for life. Ashley, forgetting to even say “yes,” grabbed her “pebble” and put it right on her finger.
About the Dress
The first dress Ashley tried on was Love by Pnina Tornai style #14852. Going into the appointment, Ashley thought she wanted something boho and flowy, but on her way to Kleinfeld this dress happened to appear to her on Instagram feed. It looked simple yet sophisticated, romantic, and timeless. Something about it sparked her attention, so on top of asking to try on bohemian-style dresses, she asked her consultant for this one first.
The second she put it on, she knew it was the one! Being only 5 feet tall and petite, this gown showed off her curves. It truly looked like she was wearing the dress, not the dress wearing her. The beautiful fold over detail along the neckline added a bit of character, the thin satin belt added a refined touch, and the long train made an amazing statement. She felt like a character out of one of her romance novels! It was everything she could have hoped for and more. Even the seamstress created a beautiful hidden bustle, so when it was time to minimize the long train, the bustle simply pinned up.
