Ashley & Paul - 7/27/24

About the Proposal

Engaged:

January 8, 2022

Paul and I ate dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Rockville Centre, New York. He parked our car a town before and said, “Oh, we are a little early. Let’s stay here for a few minutes.” My sister was visiting us from college in Mexico and she was staying with us at the house she and our cousin were going to for dinner, so they left the house a little bit before us. Little did I know he had them running around town getting flowers, the decorations, and the whole setup arranged during our dinner and before we got back. Paul had them disconnect the cameras in the house since I usually look at the pet cams to make sure our fur babies are okay. They unplugged the whole electricity to the house and did everything with flashlights (talk about overly paranoid). My sister and all my cousins pulled through in time and decorated our bedroom so nicely and romantic. I loved the layout and the fact that it was a group effort. He got down on one knee and asked me the question I had been waiting all that time (6 years) for! “Ashley, will you marry me?” I said “yes,” overjoyed, and with tears in my eyes.

About the Dress

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Sarah Kate

My dress is by Eve of Milady style 1672. My stylist Sarah Kate made me feel so comfortable at my appointment. The dress I chose was the second dress I had tried on. I was between a Pronovias and Eve of Milady dress, however, it was a no-brainer after trying both gowns on again when it came to the two I loved the most. My dress made me feel like a queen with all the sparkle, the embroidery, the design, and not to mention the veil and crown. I still remember one of the stylists who helped pick the crown and veil asking me: “Do you want it to be dramatic?” I said “YES!” My dress will forever be my favorite outfit of all time.

About the Wedding

Married:

July 27, 2024  //

Location:

San Andres, Cholula, Puebla, Mexico.  //

Venue:

Hacienda San Jose Actipan

The wedding was a destination wedding in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. Both the ceremony and reception had a fairytale feel and were very romantic. The church has a colloquial feel as it was made out of stone, bricks, and wood. The florist decorated the church for the mass with trees, flowers and lights draped left and right, and everything matched the colors of the florals at the reception. The venue we chose was like an indoor garden house. It was completely made of glass with a ceiling that looked like clouds, stunning lights, and hanging floral installations. We had the cocktail hour outside in the garden and a violinist playing for an hour while our guests arrived. It was a long day since our reception was nine hours long! We had so many activities throughout the night such as traditional Mexican wedding games and dances, little add-ons to make the guests feel special, and at the end of the night, we had a mariachi band and fireworks going off. Our wedding planner, Larissa Perez, and her team pulled through in the two years we planned with them. From the decor, add-ons, cake, music, food, and all the timing, she and her group helped me and my husband come up with the fairytale wedding we’ve always wanted. It was an amazing night and a beautiful day that we will always remember.
