On July 1, 2017, at the beautiful estate of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Sean asked Elizabeth to marry him…

Mount Vernon has always been a favorite spot of theirs to visit on the weekends. They both enjoy strolling the estate grounds and standing in awe of the breathtaking view of the Potomac from the back lawn. Not to mention, Mount Vernon’s annual summer beer fest is the event of the year!

That night, Mount Vernon was hosting their annual Independence Fireworks event, which also happened to mark two years of when Sean and Elizabeth first met. Sean asked Elizabeth if she wanted to take a walk toward the right side of the estate and she happily agreed. Elizabeth was walking a little ahead of Sean, so he stopped and asked if he could ask her a question. When she turned around, Sean was down on one knee and popped the question – to which she immediately replied “YES!”. The fireworks later that evening was the cherry on top of the evening!

Kleinfeld Consultant:

I came in for my appointment on September 30, 2017 with my mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law (it was her first time ever in NYC!). Ever since I was little, my grandmother always told me that she would take me to Kleinfeld for my wedding dress. It was truly a dream! When we walked in, I did not know what to expect. I did not request a consultant in particular, but knew their faces from the TV show. When Dianne walked out and said my name, I was in shock! Dianne was my favorite consultant from the show. I knew it was meant to be!

I came with some pictures of what I wanted for my dress. I knew I wanted some lace, a dramatic back, and silk buttons. Dianne knew exactly what I was looking for and pulled some amazing dresses. When we were about to head back to the room, she stopped and said… “Wait! There’s one more you should try on – it’s gorgeous!”. I tried on two dresses that were pretty, but not the one. Then, I tried on was the dress she grabbed last minute and was instantly blown away! When I stepped onto the center platform and turned around to look at my mother, we both broke out in tears! Before I knew it, everyone on the floor at Kleinfeld had their eyes on me and were in awe. I knew that was my dress and said “yes!” My dress and veil are from Maison Signore’s collection. Absolutely gorgeous! Dianne has a great eye!

Our wedding took place on September 15, 2018 at the beautiful Top of the Town overlooking Washington, DC. My family is from Boston and my husband’s family is from Pittsburgh, so we decided to make it a “destination” wedding for our family and friends. We met in the Washington, DC area, so for us the decision on location was a no brainer!

We had a smaller wedding (75 guests). Our ceremony and reception were held in the same space. A hurricane was due to hit the weekend of our wedding so I was very nervous! We lucked out tremendously with the weather and it turned out to be a gorgeous day! My brother was my “man of honor” and also my DJ – he rocked the house! It was a perfect day all around.
