Since we started dating, Ian always said he wanted to take me to Australia because it was his favorite place in the world and he always wanted me to meet his grandmother that lives there! We booked tickets in April of 2017 along with his sister and brother in law. December came around and we left for our trip, on December 15th, we decided to head into Sydney for the day. Ian’s uncle packed us a lunch and we were off to start our day! Lunch time came around and we decided to head into Sydney Botanical Gardens to sit and eat our sandwiches. Ian turned to me and said I know this trip was meant to be our Christmas gift but I got you something else. He created a puzzle (yes, I have a weird obsession with puzzling) of pictures of us! He told me to put it together there on that bench we were sitting at and when I finally did, he had written “Will you Marry me?” on it! His sister and brother in law caught it all on camera! It was so special! We went back to his family in Australia and celebrated the rest of our trip.
About the Dress
Every girl’s dream is to get their dress at Kleinfeld, so when my mom agreed to book an appointment, I cried and was so happy!! I started my search on the website and felt like I really knew what style I was going for. Come July 2018, we traveled all the way to NYC to say yes! The 4th dress I tried on was a stunning, fitting, classy Pronovias gown. It was everything I wanted. My crew said it was the perfect dress. I cried and said yes to the most beautiful dress ever!
About the Wedding
Married:
September 1, 2019 //
Location:
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania //
Venue:
Hilton Harrisburg
We come from two very loud and large Greek families, so we always knew we were going to have a big, fat, Greek wedding!!! We got married in my church Holy Trinity Camp Hill, PA and had the reception in Harrisburg, PA at the Hilton Hotel downtown. We had over 350 people come to our wedding and it was a night I will never forget. We had a very traditional Greek wedding with lots of Greek dancing, a long ceremony and lots of food! We had our beautiful Byzantine chanter come from DC, we had indoor sparklers that rocked our entrance and a perfect Greek band that kept us dancing all night long. I tried to incorporate our Greek theme with gold leaves and gold olive branches in almost everything. Our favors were Glass evil eye pendants. We had 8 speeches at our wedding – all were incredible and when my twin brother started to sob during his, all 350+ people in the room choked up of course, including me. My husband and I are not big cake fans, so for our cake we got a company to make us an ice cream wedding cake! It was amazing! My husband Ian, before the dancing began, secretly had been planning this all behind my back – got up and sang one of our favorite songs in front of all our guests. Our friend from London, played the piano while Ian sang and I could not believe he pulled off the most incredible surprise! There were so many special moments and it truly was the greatest day of my life! Photos: Frank King
