On October 7th, 2015, Kari walked into Outback Steakhouse in Perry Hall, MD with her grandmother “Marg” to meet her sister Kelly and mom Cynde who were waiting for them. As soon as Kari sat down, her sister Kelly said “Wait ’til you see our server!” Then of course as soon as the server came to the table and introduced himself as Tom, they both giggled and made it super awkward. After Tom walked away, Kari’s grandmother said “He’s cute Kar! Want me to say something to him?” In which Kari replied “No Mom-Mom I’m ok” Her grandmother then proceeded to explain to Tom (who we swore he said his name was Todd) that her granddaughter Kari was single and needed a boyfriend. Of course Kari’s face was blood red in embarassment but in reality it turned out that October 7th was only the beginning of something amazing. After many nights of just hanging out on Kari’s nephews moonbounce as friends, Tom took Kari to Cinghiales Restaurant in Baltimore on November 13, 2015 where he asked her to be his girlfriend. After that date, Kari and Tom knew that there was definitely something special going on and they spent every second together doing so many fun things like ski trips, camping trips, vacations, spontaneous dates to the trampoline park and front row Beach Boys Concerts (where Kel and Kar became groupies after being pulled on stage to be Barbara Ann dancers haha). Then on August 18, 2017, Kari and Tom were planning on going to Chili’s Restaurant in White Marsh, MD for Tom’s dads birthday. But things were about to change. Kari saw her cousin Tina standing out front of the restaurant. So as Tom took the surprise birthday cake for his dad into the restaurant, Kari was talking to her cousin who was out for “girls night”. Seconds later a young girl walked up to Kari with a rose and said “This is from Tom, trust me, follow me”. Minutes later a flash mob took place at the White Marsh Avenue with family and friends in which ended with Tom on his knee asking Kari to marry him. BEST DAY EVER!

About the Wedding
Married:
August 25, 2018 //
Location:
Cambridge, MD //
Venue:
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort
We got married at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Easton Maryland, where I was walked down the aisle by my 2 brothers. It was the most beautiful day Maryland has seen in a while. Our colors were blush, navy and rose gold. soft and romantic. The cocktail hour was in a lighthouse pavilion on the water at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake bay Resort in Cambridge, MD with a steel drum band and tropical drinks. Our reception was inside the ballroom where we had full floral arrangements on each table with cascading crystals and we even had a custom 16ft long beverage bar with hanging crystal chandeliers in them. Our band was amazing and we even had a hawk that flew across the ballroom to deliver the maid of honor her speech. This was a super memorable moment for all our guests. We danced the night away and ended by surprising all of our guests and family with a huge firework show right outside on the water. It was a night we will never forget and want to relive over and over again.
