The night my husband proposed is still one of the most fun and funny nights of my life to reminisce on! It was a pretty typical Tuesday for us: wake up, go to work… We had plans that evening to go a local bar to play trivia. We invited another couple to go with us, but little did I know that he had spent the day organizing all my best girlfriends to meet up with us where he would later propose. When we got to Lakeside Village, we picked up dinner, and my best friend said, “Hey, we have some time, let’s go to the fountain and take some pictures.” This kind of thing was not uncommon for us. So we went, and when I started to pose with Mike for what I thought was a picture of us before trivia, he dropped to his knee, asked me to be his wife, and tried to give a speech about his love for me. I’ll admit, I had to ask for a repeat of his monologue later, because when it happened I just immediately shouted, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” My friends were all there, taking pictures and laughing at my reaction. He made me the happiest woman in the world when he asked me to be his wife!
About the Dress
Designer:
Maggie Sottero //
Kleinfeld Consultant:
Paula
My dress is a gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown. It’s satin, ivory, ruched from top to bottom, sweetheart neckline, with an attached beaded belt at an empire waist, corset back, and one small beaded accent on the bottom right side. I loved my dress so much I never wanted to take it off! I have plans to shorten it, and wear it on my 1 year anniversary, then I’ll make plans from there! It’s the most beautiful dress I have ever seen! When I came to Kleinfeld, I thought I wanted a lace gown. Paula brought me 6-8 gowns and I was almost sold on a beautiful, gold, ombré, lace gown. I said, “Before I say ‘yes,’ let’s just try one different thing.” She said she knew just what to try. As soon as we put this dress on, the tears came to my eyes and I felt my bridal moment. This was the dress for me; I never had any doubt.
About the Wedding
Married:
October 1, 2016 //
Location:
Lakeland, Florida //
Venue:
Lake Mirror and Lone Palm Golf Club
Planning our wedding so fun; waiting for our day was torture! Mike and I could not wait to get married! We spent all 14 months planning and making sure every detail was perfect! We wanted our wedding to be intimate, fun, full of love, happiness, and to really focus on bringing our families together. We wanted to have a morning wedding and a breakfast reception. Our colors were teal, ivory, and gold. We chose to have a private, unity-circle ceremony on the lake our first apartment was on. There were only 30 of our closest family and friends to hear us exchange our heart-felt vows. Following the ceremony led by my brother-in-law, we went to Lone Palm Gold Club for the breakfast reception of our dreams to celebrate our love and happiness with 110 of our extended family and friends! We had great a great time dancing, eating delicious food, drinking mimosas, and enjoying the most beautiful cake and floral I could have asked for! Our wedding day was a true real-life fairytale for us!
