Lauren insisted on their engagement being a surprise. Anyone who knows them would agree that Andy struggled with this aspect—he had been measuring her ring finger, ordering and returning different diamonds and even taunting her with the ring box (seriously). Andy told her that it was so difficult for him to keep everything a surprise because she was his best friend. He later confessed that he actually tried to pop the question multiple times, but she always thought he was joking around.
The day after they returned from a vacation in St. John to see Andy’s brother get married—Lauren returned home from getting a manicure, Andy “proposed” to one of their dogs first and then dropped down on one knee in their living room! He had stashed Moet in the fridge to celebrate with. Andy had been carrying her ring around for weeks, even throughout their vacation in St. John, waiting for the perfect moment. Lauren got the fiancé and engagement ring of her dreams- well worth the wait (nearly five years later)!

About the Wedding
Married:
June 8, 2018 //
Location:
Old City, Philadelphia, PA //
Venue:
The Down Town Club
We both wanted a classy, timeless black tie wedding so we decided upon Old City, Philadelphia. Since Andrew is from Los Angeles, we had many out of town guests who were visiting Philadelphia for the very first time so we felt Old City was perfect for touring Philadelphia’s historic sites. We chose Old Saint Joseph’s Church for our ceremony with the reception two blocks away at the Down Town Club. The Down Town Club is located on the 11th floor of the historic Public Ledger Building and overlooks the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Cescaphe is synonymous with an overabundance of food which made our reception decision easy- 40 passed appetizers with two stations and two live stations for our cocktail hour and a half, three entree choices chosen table-side, a Viennese dessert hour and of course, a 4-tier cake!
We treated guests to an 11-piece band and a cigar roller.
My favorite parts of the wedding were our cake and how detailed we tried to make everything! We had everything from custom maps made to cocktail napkins with facts about us. It was so great to have all of our loved ones from across the country all together!
