Chris and I had just driven out to the Cape where my family was renting a gorgeous house on the ocean for a fun family vacation. During the first few days, we all decided to get dressed up and go to a nice dinner since it was the first time the whole family had been together for awhile. What I didn’t know was that while I was out shopping for something to wear, Chris had planned a gorgeous and romantic sunset proposal. I came up the stairs after getting ready for dinner when I realized the house was eerily quiet. As I walked around the corner, I realized there was a candle-lit pathway leading up and out to the wrap-around porch. Flowers lined the balcony and Chris stood there with our handsome puppy, Seamus, by his side all smiles with a camera set up, ready to capture the most adorable, heartfelt, and perfect proposal I could have ever dreamed of. After I said “yes!” we drove out to the restaurant where my family was waiting with lots of champagne to celebrate!
About the Dress
Kleinfeld Consultant:
Allison
I first fell in love with all things Hayley Paige while I was interning at Kleinfeld (Fall 2013) and met her at her trunk show. Her dresses are romantic, dramatic, young, and so much fun. I had always admired her as a designer, and when I saw her two-piece dress (1 of the 3 dresses she wore on her own wedding day), I fell absolutely head over heels. I went back to Kleinfeld during one of her trunk shows when Chris and I got engaged and saw that she had come out with a new dress that was a version of her own wedding dress. I saw it from across the room and immediately knew it was the one. What I loved most about my dress was the colorful, hand-painted flowers scattered all along the skirt and train. It was the first dress I put on and I could just tell it would be the perfect statement dress for a dreamy, romantic, bohemian-inspired, outdoor, mountainside wedding.
About the Wedding
Married:
September 17, 2016 //
Location:
Stowe, Vermont //
Venue:
Trapp Family Lodge
Our wedding was completely and unbelievably dreamy! Everything came together perfectly after an entire year of planning and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. What made the day so special is that we were able to personalize so much of it. We had an outdoor ceremony with an insanely gorgeous backdrop of my favorite Vermont mountain view, a beautifully handcrafted arbor made of driftwood from my aunt’s lake house, a super special ceremony officiated by my big brother, and the best, most supportive group of family and friends any couple could ask for!
