Engaged:

After about 9 years of dating, 7 years of a long distance relation, and 1 baby girl later, Ty and I finally got engaged at the beautiful resort of Atlantis, in The Bahamas.

On the first day we arrived, we saw this beautiful fountain with an amazing background that we deemed the most perfect photo op and must do before we leave. On our very last night, Tyshawn told me he wanted to make sure we went back there to get a picture at sunset. Little did I know what he was planning! Unfortunately, I totally ruined his plan. My hair was not cooperating and I totally made us miss sunset!

Either way, when we made it to the location, Tyshawn chased down a couple of girls who were in the area and asked them to document the moment. I thought he was just asking them to take the picture, but he let them in on the secret before they got back to the fountain. As we started posing for the “picture,” Ty ended up getting down on one knee and proposing. We now have pictures AND video footage to remember forever!

THE DRESS! My Pnina dress was perfect for our big day and everything I have always envisioned myself in. It was sexy, detailed, unique, and just stunning.

When I originally started looking for a dress, actually put a deposit down with an Australian designer for what I thought was going to be my dress. However, shortly after, I made the decision to visit Kleinfeld for two reasons: 1) I wanted the Kleinfeld experience, and 2) I just wanted to make sure there was nothing else out there for me. I felt like I did not see enough dresses to know that I 100% made the right decision.

I am SO glad I went! The experience was exactly what I expected to it be (amazing) and on the very final dress of the appointment, I was able to say YES! Lisa did a great job pulling me options with elements I loved, but the entire appointment she was asking her colleagues to find her “the sparkle dress.” It’s like she knew all along that it would be the one. They finally found it and she was right!

The dress gave me the shape I wanted, gave just the right amount of elegant, sophisticated, and sexy, and also had details like the cross-cross open back and shimmery bling that just made everyone say WOW. Finally, when we paired it with a simple and classic veil, it pulled the entire look together and truly screamed Bride.

When I was finally able to wear it after nearly 3 years since purchasing, I loved it just as much as the day I bought it. And so did everyone else.

I keep using the word “magical” to describe our day. We had so many challenges along the way, primarily due to COVID, but none of it took away from how special our night was. The love and happiness in the room was truly palpable.

After the proposal, Tyshawn and I quickly started planning our wedding with close friend and INCREDIBLE planner, Christine Harmon at Chrisfête events. I told her I wanted over the top, glamorous, romantic, and elegant. I had a vision of a very clean color palette with whites, golds, and ivory, tons of flowers, candles everywhere, in a dark romantic setting. And she delivered! The room the night of our wedding was breathtaking. All of the details were perfect. From the custom seating chart with removable Bells for the guests and a play on our last name, to the phenomenal estate tables with dramatic florals and candelabras , I could not have asked for anything more.

But the décor and aesthetic were just part of the magic. Finally getting to marry my best friend on that evening was amazing. The culmination of our 12 year relationship, the family of 4 we had created, the postponements and venue changes due to COVID, was all a recipe for pure bliss that night. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room during the ceremony, from the moment our live singer started singing “So High” by John Legend for our bridal party processional, to the moment we were announced husband and wife.

After the ceremony, us an all 90 of our guests and closest friends and family danced the night away. There was laughter, fun, and joy in every moment. We will both cherish the memories of that night forever.
