For more than 70 years, thousands of brides have traveled to Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City to find their wedding day looks. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’ll feel the magic of Kleinfeld. Not only does Kleinfeld have 30,000 square feet filled with the largest selection of wedding dresses in the world, it also has the greatest professional staff of over 200 employees who are dedicated to finding and perfecting your bridal look.
One of the most common questions we receive on our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter is, “how can I switch up my look from ceremony to reception?” So, we brought in the experts! We asked our accessories consultants how they recommend transitioning your look so you can party all night long—take a look, below.
Add a belt.
“Looking to spice up your look for the reception?” says consultant Cynthia, “It’s always a fun addition to have a detachable blingy belt option,” she suggests. Adding a bit of sparkle after the ceremony with a separate belt can really help to change up your look.

Remove your veil and add a headpiece.
Whether you choose a halo, tiara, headband, crown or comb, a headpiece makes a great replacement for a veil after your ceremony. “This way, the bride still draws attention to her face during party time,” says consultant Candice. Plus, a sparkly headpiece will look great in photos!

“Want to know how to bring your look to a whole new level of glam for the party?” says consultant Kim. “swap in a pair of big, gorgeous statement earrings!” Whether they’re gold, silver, encrusted with crystals, pearls or jewels, statement earrings are a great way to really take things up a notch.

Wear your headpiece under your veil.
What’s consultant Danielle’s best tip? “Wear your headpiece under your veil,” she says. Why? “Your guests will be dying to see what was sparkling under your veil,” she explains. You won’t have to worry about your hairstylist staying until after your ceremony to put your headpiece in for you, and it’ll sparkle beautifully under the tulle of your veil. Plus, once your veil comes off for your reception, you’ll have your headpiece for the rest of the night!

Layer an overskirt.
“Don’t be afraid to layer and experiment with different types of accessories,” says Lucia, Director of Accessories, “They can transform your gown and give you two different looks on your special day,” she says. Try layering an overskirt over your gown for your ceremony to really change the entire look and make the moment feel even more unique.
