Kleinfeld Love Stories: Erika & Jason
About the Proposal
Engaged:
March 1, 2025
Following a fun day at the Philly Flower Show, Jason and I went back to the Four Seasons where we were staying for the weekend and where the breathtaking city skyline served as our backdrop. I was still wearing the handmade flower crown I’d crafted earlier that afternoon, completely unaware that that would be part of my engagement outfit!
When Jason dropped to one knee, I did not anticipate it and my first response wasn't a "yes," but a, "Thank you!" followed quickly by, "Really?" before finally landing on (after being asked again) a joyful, tearful "Yes!" We spent the rest of the night toasting to our future overlooking the city lights. The surprises didn't end there. Jason had thoughtfully pre-planned a celebration with my parents for the following day. It was the most perfect start to this next chapter of our lives together in the City of Brotherly Love.
About the Dress
Kleinfeld Consultant:
Gaby
Symmetrical Alençon lace defines this Allure Bridals Couture gown, blending romance with modern drama. The champagne ivory sheath silhouette featured a matching detachable ballgown train for a seamless transition from a grand ceremony to a surprise reception reveal during the first dance. It provided multiple looks in one dress!
About the Wedding
Married:
February 7, 2026
Location:
Jersey City, NJ
Venue:
Hudson House
Our winter wedding began at the W Hoboken, where snow clogged streets turned our journey to St. Matthew into a legendary adventure. When the bridal bus got stuck in the snow banks, a last-minute Uber saved the day. Meanwhile, my cousin the bellman rang the church bells for twenty minutes straight to signal my arrival, sparking a police noise complaint and a viral Reddit thread Jason still loves!
The ceremony was high church featuring an organist, pianist, trumpet, and opera singers. As the sun set, we moved to the waterfront to celebrate against the NYC skyline. Our black-tie optional evening glowed in shades of black, white, and candlelight, with tall candelabras and high clouds of baby’s breath. Jason wore a diamond and emerald pin, while my father’s ranunculus matched my bouquet.
Music was the heartbeat of the night; the East Coast Band and Big Mike from American Idol kept the dance floor packed for all ages. We enjoyed both a traditional wedding cake and a classic Norwegian wedding cake before guests left us "After The Tone" messages. The night ended perfectly upstairs at the Stork Club after-party, where everyone enjoyed donuts, drinks, and late night snacks while overlooking the city lights. It was cold, windy, and truly beautiful.
