Kleinfeld Love Stories: Sophia and Paul
About the Proposal
Engaged:
November 8, 2024
Under the guise of an afternoon martini at The Tin Building, Paul proposed on a Friday afternoon at sunset near the Brooklyn Bridge on Pier 17 in Manhattan.
When we returned to our apartment building nearby, both our families were waiting for them in the lobby to celebrate before heading to dinner at The Fulton.
About the Dress
Kleinfeld Consultant:
Caroline R
I was absolutely obsessed with my dress. I visited Kleinfeld with my mom in January and had tried on a few dresses previously. I was still open to lots of different silhouettes but one dress had caught my eye when we were walking in – that I saw on the mannequin. Towards the very end of my appointment I asked my sales associate if I could try that dress on and sure enough it was so fun and magical I couldn’t stop smiling the second I put it on. After this one, nothing else even compared.
About the Wedding
Married:
November 8, 2025
Location:
Kansas City, MO
Venue:
The Grand Hall at Power & Light
We got married in Kansas City, MO, which is where I am from originally. We incorporated lots of NYC details like custom Statue of Liberty hats for the dance floor, table numbers and programs that were similar to New Yorker magazine covers, and of course, our final song being “New York, New York”.
I hadn’t shown anyone my dress prior to the wedding, so it was SO fun to get to surprise our wedding party with a first look before photos. Paul loved it too – and even though we were a little worried about our choreographed dance with all the tulle, we nailed it.
We had the best night celebrating with all our friends and family.
