Kleinfeld Love Stories: Leslie & Andy
About the Proposal:
Engaged: August 24, 2024
Andy surprised me with a trip back home to Chicago for a weekend getaway since he had work obligations there. He tricked me into thinking we were going to a fancy work brunch but it turned out to be my own proposal on the rooftop of the historic Ambassador Hotel in Chicago’s Gold Coast. He hired a mariachi band and had the most beautiful floral display. It was perfect. To top it all off, he surprised me with a “lunch,” which turned out to be a planned party with 50 of our friends and family. It was seriously perfect!
About the Dress:
Consultant: Krissy
I saw this dress online while I was browsing for dress inspiration. Pnina only had the dress at Kleinfeld in New York, and at the time I was living in Bogota, Colombia and traveling back and forth to Washington, DC for work. One weekend, I decided to make a weekend trip to NYC to try on the dress. It was the first one I tried on, and immediately I knew it was the one. After trying on a few more to confirm it was perfect, I said “yes to the dress” with my matron of honor who flew in from Chicago and my friend who drove with me from DC. I seriously didn’t think I’d be saying yes to the dress that day, but it was everything I wanted and more.
About the Wedding:
Married: May 16, 2026
Location: Washington, DC
Venue: Washington National Cathedral
Photographer: Kir Tubin
The dress was perfect for our wedding at the National Cathedral in Washington DC. The bolero, the dramatic bottom, the matching cathedral length veil… all perfect. We had a beautiful ceremony and reception both at the cathedral, with whites and neutrals to set the scene, a mariachi to honor our Mexican roots, and the perfect band and caterer made it the best day of our lives.
