Kleinfeld Love Stories: Emily & Stephen
About the Proposal:
Engaged: Summer 2025
Stephen and I are avid travelers and each summer we plan an epic vacation. I usually do most of the planning with little windows for surprises. Summer 2025 we traveled to Norway, a bucket list location for both of us. I was running a half marathon at start our trip, under the midnight sun! Following that, we went to the the Lofoton Islands for hiking and exploring under the midnight sun. On our third night of hiking under the midnight sun, on our drive back to our hotel, Stephen wanted to make a stop to "fly the drone." It was nearly 2 am at this point, and I was so tired, I was very unfazed by his request. When we stopped, he got out of the car and I stayed in the car (which apparently he predicted I would do) and went out to fly the drone. He eventually beckoned me out so we could take a drone video which we do on a lot of our vacations. Stephen is a professional videographer so we have a lot of really awesome photos. When I got out to the rock, I noticed a woman who I thought was taking landscape photography and I thought we were being rude and in her way, he said, "oh no, she's totally fine, she actually offered to take a photo of us after we do our video" and shortly after that he flew the drone out away from us, got down on one knee and proposed. Turns out the photographer was there for us and captured everything. It was so special and I was SO shocked. I never thought it would happen on that trip, our itinerary was so jam packed and I didn't think he was paying attention at all when I was making it! Turns out I was wrong. We spent some time taking photos and the cutest dolphins were swimming and jumping in the background behind us. It was such a pure, authentic moment, one that we will never forget!
About the Dress:

Growing up, my mom and I watched Say Yes to The Dress together EVERY week. We absolutely loved that show. We always talked about making it to Kleinfeld one day, and I made it my mission to make that happen!
I have always been a Pnina fan. I knew what dress I wanted prior to getting to Kleinfeld, I saw it on instagram years prior to getting engaged and just felt this tug towards it. I chose a Pnina long sleeve, lace ball gown for my main dress. I felt like an absolute modern princess in the gown, 4923T.
My second dress I chose a Pnina beaded mini. It was the perfect dress for my reception!

We got married in IRELAND! Stephen and I are big travelers and knew we'd always have a destination wedding. Stephen actually thought of Ireland because both of our last names are Irish and it's a place we both loved when we visited. We also figured it's a pretty entry level international destination for our guests to get to!
We spent 3 days entertaining our guests. Day 1 started in Dublin, we had a "Dublin Day" where we took our guests around on a double decker sightseeing bus with stops for photo ops. We then were dropped off at the Guinness factory where we toured the facility for a few hours and then were dropped off again at the Merchant's Arch in Temple Bar for an evening of Irish food and drinks. Day 2 we shuttled our guests to our wedding venue, Virginia Park Lodge, where we had full reign of the property. That evening we hosted a garden party theme'd welcome party with speeches, food, drinks, Irish Dancing, and a visit from Irish wolfhounds. Day 3 was the actual wedding where we danced until 2 am.
