Kleinfeld Love Stories: Nicole & Tom
About the Proposal:
Engaged: August 2025
Tom and I both love to golf, so the course has always been one of our favorite places to spend time together—which made it the ultimate setting for a total surprise! We had all chipped onto the green, and I was the last one walking up, scanning the grass for my ball. Tom pointed toward one on the green, and when I walked over to inspect it, I saw the words "Marry Me?" printed across it. It was a clever custom plastic golf ball that opened up to reveal the engagement ring inside! Tom picked it up, took the ring out, dropped to one knee, and asked me to spend forever with him. It was completely unexpected, perfectly tailored to us, and an instant hole-in-one moment!

About the Dress:
Consultant: Lisa F
Finding my gown at Kleinfeld was a lifelong dream come true, especially for my daughters, who have been dedicated, longtime fans of Say Yes to the Dress. We planned a special girls' trip—just me and my two daughters—for an unforgettable shopping experience. The moment we walked in and my daughter Abby realized the iconic Lisa Fuhrman was going to be our consultant, she nearly passed out from excitement! Lisa made the day pure magic from start to finish.
Together with Lisa, I said yes to the Allure Couture Style C725 strapless sheath bridal gown. The gown features breathtaking, dimensionally beaded vines of sequined floral lace layered over translucent Chantilly lace, creating an ethereal sense of depth, texture, and subtle shimmer. With its sculpted sweetheart neckline, corseted illusion bodice with exposed boning, and fluid, flattering silhouette, it captured the exact effortless romantic elegance I dreamed of for our waterfront beach celebration.

About the Wedding:
Married: July 18, 2026
Location: Bark River in Harris, Michigan
Venue: The Beach at the Quinn-Lewis Cottage and Island Resort & Casino
Photographer:
Our wedding day was 30 years in the making. Tom and I grew up in the same hometown and went to school together. Life eventually took us in completely different directions, different cities, and different chapters for three decades. Then, five years ago, a simple social media reconnect sparked thousands of texts, alternating flights between Georgia and Michigan, daily morning coffee over FaceTime, and a conscious choice to close the long distance and build a life together.
Returning home to Michigan to say our vows on July 18, 2026, brought everything full circle. We gathered on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Quinn-Lewis Cottage in Upper Michigan—the very beach where Tom spent his boyhood summers—with Tom’s brother John officiating and my daughters Abby and Ella by our side.
The week brought an unexpected test when smoke from the Canadian wildfires swept south, sparking flight cancellations that forced our determined loved ones to reroute across the country and road-trip in rental cars just to be there. But right on our wedding day, nature smiled on us: the wind shifted, clearing the skies right over the water and leaving behind a soft, romantic haze that caught the sunlight and gave our photos a dramatic glow. We followed our beachfront vows with an evening of dining and dancing at the Island Resort & Casino—the most perfect celebration of patience, perseverance, and a love that was always meant to be.
